GOOGLE PIXEL IMAGE QUALITY EXPERT

Enhancing Pixel camera quality and skin tone representation through rigorous / diverse data collection, camera / software testing, training artificial intelligence, qualitative research, and debugging.

REAL TONE EXPERT

Hand selected by Google for their first cohort of photographer image quality experts for Real Tones equitable camera technology for Pixel to produce images, provide QA, and diversify Googles data base for the camera development of the Google Pixel 5-7.
Produced over 1,000 images within tight time constraints with rigorous testing of diverse inclusive skin tones, different lighting conditions, environments, and real life situations.

Collected data and directed feedback to engineers on how to improve skin tone representation on pixel cameras by guiding them through my editing process, providing education on camera basics, and through digestible post production techniques and logic.

Our Real Tone technology was presented at their annual developer conference (Google I/O) and won Grand Prix at Cannes in 2022.

Real Tone Expert Converts Into Googler

At Google as an Image quality expert I worked on the image and video quality tuning of Pixel cameras and features such as Magic Eraser, Camouflage, Real Tone, Night Sight, Skin Texture, Super Res Zoom, Portrait Brightening, and Deep Restore. I collected debugging data, raw images, and export data to googles private database.Developed quantitative and qualitative evaluations for new features and algorithms. As well as provided direct feedback to engineers, work on tasks from multiple technical teams, and collaborate on tuning changes and challenges.

Aside from my photography team tasks, I took initiative to grow my skills and integrate myself in various technical teams and projects at Google. In less than a year at Google, I conceived and designed an in progress hero feature alongside research scientists, product managers, and engineers. Despite being a photographer I have worn many hats in this team and helped create UX/UI mocks, hero samples, demos, and our color theory technology.
